Chemical Safety Committee

PURPOSE:

The Chemical Safety Committee (CSC) is responsible for addressing matters related to chemical safety.

In addition to dealing with emerging chemical safety issues, the committee also serves as a sounding board for EH&S policies regarding chemical safety.

 

MEETING SCHEDULE:

The CSC meets as needed to review chemical safety policies and issues as they arise.

 

MEMBERSHIP:

Membership of the committee is composed of the Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO), the EH&S Director, The Chairperson of the Chemistry Department (or their designee) and available chemistry personnel involved in, or knowledgeable about, the issues at hand.

 

LEADERSHIP:

The Chemical Safety Committee is chaired by the Chairperson of the Chemistry Department (or their designee). The Chemical Hygiene Officer prepares the agendas, schedules the meetings, and arranges for meeting minutes.
