Training Requirements
Cal/OSHA §3221, Fire Prevention Plan (FPP), describes the regulatory requirement for employers to train employees to recognize, report, and control fire hazards.
This information is covered in the online Emergency Action Plan training course assigned to all employees with a refresher every three years.
Employees with more specific responsibilities for controlling fire hazards or for maintaining or installing fire suppression or control equipment receive additional training from their department or designee.
CY 2024 Update
Facilities Services employees were trained on the Facilities Fire Prevention Plan in CY 24.
As of the end of CY 2024, 64% of all employees assigned the EAP training completed it and are current.
