Program Description
SFSU generates medical/biohazardous waste from COSE, CLS, Student Health Services, Mashouf Wellness Center and from locked sharps waste disposal boxes around campus.
EH&S’ Environmental Compliance Specialist, arranges for the required weekly disposal of the campus’ medical / biohazardous wastes by a licensed disposal contractor using a properly permitted disposal facility.
CY 2024 Update
In CY 2024, SFSU disposed of 3006 pounds of medical waste at a cost of $21,853.
