Medical Help For Non-Emergencies
(For emergencies, call 911.)
- Is it an emergency?
- Yes: Call 911 (University Police Department (UPD) will be notified).
- No: Proceed to the next question.
- Is the patient a student nurse-intern?
- Yes: Proceed to question 4.
- No: Proceed to the next question.
- Is the Injury Work-Related?
- Yes: Get treatment at work site.
- No: Proceed to question 6.
- Is the patient a student-employee?
- Yes: Proceed to question 9.
- No: Proceed to the next question.
- Is patient a student?
- Yes: Proceed to the next question.
- No: Proceed to question 8.
- Did this take place near campus?
- Yes: Proceed to the next question.
- No: Proceed to number 12.
- Is student health open?
- Yes: Go to student Health M-F, 8:15 am - 4:45 pm (Wed opens at 10:00)
- No: Proceed to number 12.
- Is patient a visitor to campus?
- Yes: Proceed to question 7.
- No: Proceed to the next question.
- Therefore Patient is an Employee. Was injury work-related?
- Yes: Call SFSU Workers’ Compensation Manager at 214-458-1368. Go to student Health M-F, 8:15 am - 4:45 pm (Wed opens at 10:00). Proceed to the next question.
- No: Proceed to number 12.
- Was workers comp office open?
- Yes: SFSU Workers comp manager will take a report and direct the patient for treatment.
- No: Leave a detailed report of the injury on the phone. Proceed to the next question.
- Did this take place near campus?
- Yes: Go to the nearest emergency room: Seton Medical Center, 1900 Sullivan Ave, Daly City, 94015; Phone: 650-992-4000.
- No: Proceed to number 12.
- Go to your local health care facility/provider.
