Program Description
EH&S tracks the cost and amount of the total regulated waste, (including universal waste, chemical waste, biological waste, and radioactive waste) generated from a variety of processes.
All waste types have strict regulations concerning their collection, treatment, storage, and disposal.
Regulated wastes are strictly forbidden from being thrown into the regular trash or disposed of down the drain.
CY 2023 Update
In CY 2023 SFSU disposed of is 94,415 pounds of regulated waste at a cost $233,310. An amended contract with our disposal vendor led to a significant increase in disposal costs.
