INSPECT is a laboratory safety inspection tool to document safety issues and to ensure compliance with safety regulations. EH&S is doing inspections using custom checklists in the app, however they are available for faculty and staff to use on their own labs and activity spaces.
RSS INSPECT is available both as a mobile app for phones and tablets and in a desktop version.
The RP (group Responsible Person) must correct most findings within 30 days
of inspection acknowledgement. It is understood that some findings may take
longer to resolve, so communicate such issues to EH&S and your department.

Lab Safety Checklist
These annual inspections include all the locations not just hazmat rooms. EH&S uses only the groups with 'Main Group' in the name for utilizing the lab safety management features in RSS.
- Complete lab safety inspections at least annually

Hazmat Checklist
This inspection is documented for each room with hazardous materials separately using RSS groups with "For INSPECT" or "For hazmat" in the name.The city and county of San Francisco requires these inspections to document environmental compliance.
